Rohit Sharma creates new world record! will Surprise you

With the 7-run victory against South Africa in the series decider on February 24, the stand-in captain Rohit Sharma has created new record. Despite performing poor with the bat in this tour, his captaincy skill is scintillating.

The South African skipper JP Duminy, who won the toss in the series decider, asked the visitors to bat first. The regular captain Virat Kohli, who did not play due to a stiff back, was replaced by Dinesh Karthik. With the help of Dhawan’s 43 and Suresh Raina’s 43, Indian team managed to post a total of 172 on their board.

Indian bowlers troubled the hosts with the ball from the very first over. Though the debuntant Christiaan Jonker smashed 49-off-24, the Proteas lost the match by just 7 runs. With the win in the last game, India won the T20I series by 2-1.

Rohit Sharma’s amazing record as captain:

The Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who failed to contribute with the bat in this tour, created new record as captain. He became the sixth skipper to win four consecutive T20I games when his team clinched victory in the series decider. Rohit joined the list of veteran Kumar Sangakkara, Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmed, Misbah-Ul-Haq and Lasith Malinga.

Under his captaincy, Indian team whitewashed the Sri Lankan team in the three-match T20I series. As the regular captain Virat Kohli has been rested for the upcoming tri-series, Rohit Sharma will lead the side.
